National Engineers Week

The First Time I Discovered the Power of Engineering…..

I was in the car sometime last year with my daughter who was fascinated by the buildings and construction. She started to ask who built the buildings and where they came from. Having absolutely no experience in engineering and architecture, I explained to her that people have studied in school and work to make the buildings. I told her that it was like when she plays with her building blocks or magna-tiles. I elaborated on how the lighting, HVAC, and layout came into play and she was further intrigued. As I sat there trying to explain to her, I became intrigued myself and fascinated that a group of people came together to design the ins and outs of our local library, or my office or the community center that I bring my daughter to for ice skating lessons. I found myself thankful for great minds that sparked my daughters curiosity.

I am even more grateful now that I have joined the MA Engineers team. You guys provide such a vast variety of services, that you truly are a unique bunch. Thanks for all the hard work and dedication you put into each and every project you are stuck with! = P

Introductions

Good morning and happy Monday to all!

This is the start of the blogging world for myself and Katie! You are invited to follow us as we enjoy the everyday wonders and tackle struggles for being a family of four. Now for introductions:

The Guerrero Family

I am a young mother of two. Balancing work and motherhood has been my life's lesson and while its no where near perfect I love my life, husband and children. My love and life would not exist without them. For me and DH, Ben, love started in high school and has grown to an unconditional love for one another. We immediately became a family, welcoming Katie into our world on March 11, 2006. A few months after that, we adopted a beast! Max is our, now 5-year old, German Shepherd. He has grown right alongside Katie and has since quadrupled in size! In 2009, we decided to become a military family and DH joined the USMC. Since then, our family has learned to survive quite a bit and learned to love even when thousands of miles away from one another. That love has grown sooo much that we even have another addition to our family! Isaac Michael Guerrero was born on June 2, 2011 and we now feel complete as a family. Daddy is currently deployed in Afghanistan and we await for his return in the following months. He may be 8,000 miles away; but, through this blog, it'll be like he is right here at home with us!

And now, ladies and gentlemen...... Katie Guerrero!! She will be the main spotlight of this blog as she shares life through her eyes, ideas, and thoughts. Through this blog, you will be exposed to her artsy creations, funky ideas and silly-but sweet-ways.

Followers will know Katie as an energetic, artsy, fun five-year old who is currently in kindergarten. She loves to color, pretend-play and play with her little brother, Isaac. They have grown to be great buddies and keep one another smiling throughout the day. Here is a picture of the two stinkers napping with their daddy pillow.
